Boiler repair. Returned and installed a new valve for the manifold system for the master bedroom, in-floor heat. Drain system, refilled and bled. Manifold is no longer available. Checked for leaks on the system; it looks good. Restarted the boiler.

Blew out condensate lines and told customer if the problem persist we will have to order a new drain assembly and repipe condensation lines and flue. School plumbing repair. The drinking fountain is tied into the drain from a roof head. When we get excessive rain, it backs up into the drinking fountain. There is an existing mop basin line in the same room; we can disconnect the drinking fountain from the storm drain and tie into the sanitation line. The tie-in points are 8’ apart from each other, and there is open access. Disconnect the drinking fountain from the storm drain that keeps backing up in the drinking fountain when it rains. Cap off storm connection with 2” pvc clean out. Cup into 3” cast iron drain and add 3x2 wye and wrap around room to drinking fountain and tie into drinking fountain drain. Added a 2” wye and clean out in run for future rodding. Anchored 2” piping RO cinder block wall with 2” 2 hole straps. Everything ran and tested, and working as it should

Commercial plumbing repair. Repair leaks on a copper piping water line in the main lobby. I had to turn off the hot water to the entire first floor and drain the entire system to repair it. After the system was drained, I cut out the faulty 90 and replaced it with a new 1 1/2” copper pipe by using two 1 1/2” progress couplings and one 11/2” progress 90. Turned the water back on, checked for leaks, and emptied the air of the hot water line before turning the return pump back on. After a piping system inspection, I found it was holding with no leaks. The air was bled out of the system, and the return pump was working properly. I cleaned up the work area.

School plumbing service. In a closet, there is a hose with a shutoff valve for both hot and cold water lines; both are open. When the valve is off, this will create a crossover from hot to cold. The same is true with the kitchen pre-rinse hose if the hot and cold water lines are open with the sprayer off. I also looked at the water heaters and advised that the cold feed may need to install a check valve.

Furnace repair. Customer was hearing a fluttering sound when furnace was turning on. Found customers duct damper handles were slightly loose and caused damper to fall down enough to vibrate off the main duct. Tightened handles to dampers and noise went away. No charge via tech.
