Joliet Rialto Square Theater opens. PDM installs first siphon toilets. Hires WWI veterans.
1937
First Lutheran Church becomes Joliet's first air conditioned church after PDM installation.
1950s
Rudy Mahalik invents safe drain cleaning equipment. PDM hires Korean War veterans.
1970s
PDM helps with construction of Salem Towers, installing plumbing for 230 apartments.
1990s
PDM repipes The Park Tower, a 14 story building. Hires Desert Storm veterans.
2010s
PDM installs new classroom air conditioning system in Union School District 81.
1890s
PDM offers the latest base burner heating and first electric fan. Hires Spanish-American war veterans.
1930s
Chicago World's Fair. PDM installs first blower-furnace and air conditioning system.
1943
Rudy Mahalik serves in the Pacific Fleet aboard the USS Savo Island aircraft carrier.
1960s
Copper water piping becomes a common upgrade in homes. PDM hires Vietnam War veterans.
1980s
Over 500,000 clients served in our first century.
2000s

Both honor a George, and both grand openings were in 1885!
The Washington Monument was dedicated on a chilly February 21, 1885, one day before George Washington’s birthday (which fell on a Sunday that year).
On a mild day in early February of 1885 George Poehner opened PDM as full service hardware store with some of the best products of the time. Today, PDM is a leader in plumbing, heating and cooling service.
