The Washington Monument was dedicated on a chilly February 21, 1885, one day before George Washington's birthday (which fell on a Sunday that year).
On a mild day in early February of 1885 George Poehner opened PDM as full service hardware store with some of the best products of the time. Today, PDM is a leader in plumbing, heating and cooling service.
