Floor drain that was backing up was tiled over with holes drilled in the tile making it not able to be rodded. Attempted to cut and drill tile to make a nice hole but the tile was too hard. Broke tile to get access and successfully rodded floor drain.

Boiler repair. Replaced 1” steam pipe in basement, cut out bad pipe, used new steam press fittings, used press fittings to save on replacement of entire 20 ft steam pipe.

Water piping leak. City of Joliet hit and broke the city water main, residential water main, and city sewer while digging for a leak at a residence. I connected about 15’ back from the main and tied into a 1-1/4” poly well line, the transition to a 3/4” copper to install a b-box and tie into the main 15’ down run. All tie-ins were code-compliant with no soldier joints. All joints were threaded or compression.

Commercial heating repair. Replaced the inducer motor and blew out the burners. Cycled the unit and tested the operation unit is heating properly.

Water leak. The leak appears not to be coming from the drain but from the shower itself.

Commercial sewer and drain cleaning. The tub on the 2nd floor is 100% backed up. Pulled the overflow cover to the rod, and the screws broke off in the cover of the face plate. One of the helpers, Jim, told me he would drill and retap the cover and reinstall the screws. Pulled numerous children’s toys from the tub drain after plunging vigorously for 35 to 40 minutes to suck the toys back into the tub so I could pull them out. Was able to get drawing working great after debris and toys were removed. I did not have to cut open the drum trap to get the drain open.

Faucet repair. Installed a new Moen tub/shower valve in the upstairs hall bath, with brushed-nickel trim on the faceplate and tub spout. The customer wanted to keep their old handheld shower head. Everything is cleaned up, tested, and working as it should.

Commercial rooftop furnace repair. Replaced all filters, found a belt pulley broken, and the blower is not working on unit 8> Will need to find the pulley and do repairs.

Water backflow testing. Tested and certified (2) RPZs. Took a picture of a mop sink faucet that needs replacing. The drinking fountain on the first floor wasn’t getting water, turned on the stop underneath.

Sewer and drain cleaning. The bathtub is draining slowly. I pulled the overflow cover off, used my hair lighter, and pushed down the drain. I pulled out a ball of hair, and the tub drains perfectly fine now. Everything tested, cleaned up, and working as it should.

Commercial sump pump repair. Pulled and unclogged pump #2, reinstalled, and tested the operation on the pump. It is now operating properly.

Commercial plumbing repair. Drain assembly broken at 1-1/2” nipple coming out of wall to pick up lav drain. Had to cut access in wall to install a 1-1/2x1-1/4” no hub band to hook up drain assembly. Installed a new 1-1/2” tubular p-trap as well. Everything hooked up, cleaned up and working as it should

Commercial water heater repair. Inspected the electrical hot water heater; the overload switch was tripped inside the heater. Removed the access panel and reset. Set the temperature to 120 degrees.

Check for leak on ceiling in classroom. Exhaust fan is for kitchen hood. Must turn on supply fan and exhaust or building will pull down to negative pressure. Found missing pieces of insulation above drop ceiling. This will bring in cold air from attic and cause condensation leaks.

Bathroom plumbing repair. Tightened screws on overflow drain, filled tub twice, and no leaks. This is a claw-foot tub with a shower hookup.

Removed radiator nut, added sealer and tightened. If leak comes back valve will need replacement.

Church plumbing repair. Inspected for pipe leaking. Found water dripping from the overflow pipe on the steam boiler return condensate tank. Would have to remove the float fill valve inside the tank to inspect and remove and clean the low water cut-off valve/fill valve on the boiler. The tank has heavy rust buildup and suggests ordering a new float, with a high probability of breaking the float when we remove it due to age. Will send estimate.
